If you used windows 10 spotlite for lock screen and you loved the gorgeous pictures, this article will show you how you can use these pictures as desktop wallpaper. First, if you’re not seeing a series of professionally shot images on your Windows 10 lock screen, you’ll want to enable Windows Spotlight. To do so, log in to your Windows 10 account and go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen.

Windows 10  store spot light images in the following directory

as Username will be replaced with the logged in user to the system (Example: Jad).
Most of the images come with a descent quality to fit as desktop wallpaper as most of them over 400 KB. And as I’m a software engineer I wrote a small console app will copy the images from the above directory to the default directory of slideshow

All what you need to do is download the console and run it and it will take care of copying the images and rename it (as by default windows doesn’t add the proper image extensions like .jpg to the images) then copy it to the default directory of windows slide show. Once you run the application which takes 1 sec, go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Background > Slideshow. Now you all all the pictures you love on spotlite as slideshow for your desktop wallpaper.

What about the new pictures !!

Yes I know that any new picture comes after you run the application will not show up in the slideshow, the solution is simple by creating a windows task runs everyday to fetch the new images into the same folder:

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler
and create new basic task and give it a proper name so you can remember what it was made for

Choose the task to be daily and decide at what time you want to run.

Finally choose the task will start a program, and then navigate to the location of the application exe. Make sure that you don’t change the location of these files or the task will fail every time.

Note: Application must run as administrator in order to have permission to access the windows folder

Please find the the download link below and let me know how this works for you. Enjoy your new wallpaper 🙂
